A church for computers? Or an old church used for a classroom? Or something else? Whatever it is, it’s a beautiful building!

What a beautiful building.
Lots of neat stuff at RPI.
Dad
This beautiful building was slated to be torn down back in ’75 or so, to be replaced by a new computer center building. The students rallied and protested so vigorously to not have it destroyed that the powers-that-be were forced to reconsider and decided to integrate the mainframe into the present building. I think they made the right choice!
Aunt V
I agree! There is no reason why the past and present can’t peacefully co-exist. I’m glad the students cared enough to prevent the destruction of the chapel. Thanks for the history, Dad!
